PREPARING YOUR HOME FOR MARKETING

Investing a few hours and dollars in your home NOW can pay you big dividends when you sell. Look at your home as if you were a prospective buyer. Are things in good general repair?

The following is a check list that may be helpful.

EXTERIOR:

paint - fresh and appealing
shrubs - trimmed and shaped
lawn - cut, fertilized and watered
gutters - and downspouts repaired
yard - picked up and uncluttered
flowers - planted in season
walks - and drive way clean
front door - sanded and repainted

INTERIOR:

entry area - clean and well lighted
walls - and ceilings painted and floors shining
high wattage lights - in dark areas
windows - clean and able to be opened
rooms - furnished properly
closets - and storage areas orderly
door knobs - and hinges tightened
leaky faucets - and plumbing fixed
torn screens - cracked window fixed
switch plates - and wood work cleaned

Generally all repair work must be attended to. However, a new roof, landscaping, additions or other major items should be taken under advisement.
