Deltona is an unusual, cosmopolitan city just 30 miles from Orlando, 20 miles from Daytona Beach and one hour from Disneyworld. The most appealing factor about Deltona is that it is a residential area rather than an industrial city. Our quiet country setting is large enough to attract important services such as banking, restaurants, hospitals and shopping yet zoned to preserve the cozy bedroom community feeling. We are located far enough from the popular Florida attractions not to be affected by them on a daily basis and close enough to enjoy them when the mood strikes. We are a mixed community with a very active senior population as well as a large population of growing families. Those who have chosen to relocate in the Deltona area have expressed great satisfaction in their choice. Please allow some time to look over the Deltona area when you come this way.

Deltona is a young city only just incorporated in 1997. We have three seasons, fall, spring and summer. The annual mean temperature is 72°, average relative humidity is 56% and the average rainfall per year is 53 inches. Florida has no income tax and no inheritance tax. Sales tax in Volusia County is 6% but does not apply to certain items, chiefly food and medicine. Real Estate taxes are exacted by the county and city in which you live. Homeowners who have been permanent residents of Florida prior to January 1 may apply for a $25,000 Real Estate tax exemption of the assessed value of their home providing it is the primary residence. There are seven elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools serving Deltona as well as three private schools. Recreational facilities include 6 golf courses including the Deltona Hills Golf & Country Club. This club includes a swimming pool, tennis courts, dining rooms, lounges, golf shop and locker rooms. Deltona contains many smaller lakes and is located on the shores of Lake Monroe which is part of the St. John's River. There is an excellent boat-launching ramp, flanked by seawalls which make this area outstanding for fishing, boating and water recreation. Twelve parks in Deltona feature playgrounds, fishing, baseball, soccer and shuffleboard. Many more parks are in the planning stages. A total of 473 acres has been set aside for recreational facilities. There are three major shopping centers within Deltona to answer your shopping needs. Zoning does not permit large shopping centers and malls within the limits of Deltona but this type of shopping is conveniently located in the surrounding communities. The Deltona Regional Library, opened in 1996, houses a collection of over 60,000 books, video tapes and recordings. Beyond the norm, the library services include children's programs, access to IBM compatible computers, a large auditorium and a community room. Deltona has over 100 civic clubs and organizations including Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, Political, Scouts and VFW's. The area is serviced by three hospitals providing almost 500 beds. State of the art medical care is available within minutes from any location in the Deltona area. Deltona has an independent fire district providing service to almost 70,000 residents covering 45 square miles. There are 46 employees backed up by 20 reserves manning the four stations and 13 vehicles. In addition to fire protection, the department responds with paramedics to all emergency calls. Currently, police protection is hired from the county sheriffs office with substations within the Deltona area, but it is expected that Deltona will develop its own independent police department within the near future. There are over 40 churches in and around the Deltona area representing more than 30 denominations including Methodist, Baptist, Christian, United Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Christian Science, Presbyterian, Jewish, Jehovah's Witnesses, Church of God and Trinity Assembly of God - just to name a few.
